Rapid growth at the Gulf Coast campus of the University of Southern Mississippi is an opportunity to consider a new, vibrant future for this campus, and the Student Resource Center helps students find a home away from home on campus. The program includes Academic Advising, Career Development, student meeting rooms and other student services, dining, lounge, and an 220-seat auditorium for film screenings, speakers, and theatre events. The building will act as a Technology Hub – a place where students can find space for informal study, pursue collaborative activities, and interact with faculty, advisers, and their peers.

Materials include polished-face CMU in a stacked bond, a steel-frame porch with a trellised canopy over the Eyrie at the top of the building, and metal vitrines that cantilever out to take advantage of views. The building is designed to reduce energy use by 40% and to be solar-ready.
