Adaptive Re-use

An eclectic mansion, urban farm, and speakeasy are part of a luxe retreat at the foot of the Crescent City Connection on the west bank of New Orleans. The mansion is a mix: Spanish Colonial Revival mission tile roof, clay tile masonry, and ornate metal grillwork; Italianate style comes the ornate twisted columns with rope-like molding and Corinthian capitals, elliptical arched transom over the front door with swag mullions; and Bungalow style shiplap siding; bay windows; and four by four double casement windows. The mansion will be rehabilitated as a hotel, spa, and speakeasy.

The program for the extended site includes an events center for 300 guests, chapel, pool complex (including a secret VIP pool area), guest bungalows, greenhouse and gardens, and a barn for goats, chickens, and other friendly farm animals.

The site is planned to enclose a lush landscape with still and moving water, absorptive gardens, native pollinator meadows, and highlighting the ancient live oaks on the property.
