Farragut lofts

adaptive re-use

Renovation of the McDonald Lumberyard will create a mixed-use development with 15 loft housing units, commercial and restaurant spaces at the first level. The existing three-story structure was built using the early 20th-century industrial elements: corrugated metal, heavy wood timbers, and exposed steel columns. Almost 90% of the existing fabric of the building will be retained and reused to minimize carbon from new material extraction and manufacture.

A full measure of amenities attract residents: swimming, outdoor dining, gym, and common workspaces establish community bonds. City Park with a playground and tennis court are across the street, and many commercial offices, shops, and restaurants are within easy walking distance.
